See Through Different Perspectives when Conversations Unfolding at INTERSECTION
Every encounter has the potential to change the way we see the world.
Sometimes it begins with a conversation. Sometimes with a shared experience. And sometimes, it happens through art. This season, ASHTA District 8 presents INTERSECTION, a curated initiative that explores what happens when different artistic voices, cultural perspectives, and visual languages come together within a shared space.
Developed in collaboration with V&V Gallery and Rika Contemporary, INTERSECTION brings together contemporary artists from Indonesia, Tokyo, and the wider global art landscape. Through works shaped by memory, pop culture, urban life, and personal reflection, the exhibition becomes a meeting point where different ideas coexist, challenge one another, and create unexpected connections.

PARALLEL CONVERSATIONS: Art in Dialogue
At the heart of INTERSECTION is PARALLEL CONVERSATIONS, an exhibition that embraces the idea that art does not need to arrive at a single conclusion. Instead, it unfolds through a series of visual dialogues. Different backgrounds, different experiences, and different ways of seeing the world exist side by side, allowing visitors to move freely between perspectives and discover their own connections along the way.
References to contemporary culture and mass media intersect with works rooted in memory, everyday observations, and local narratives. Some artists speak through globally recognizable visual languages, while others offer quieter reflections inspired by intimate moments and familiar surroundings. Together, these works create a dynamic exchange that continues to evolve with every viewer who enters the space.

From Global Icons to Contemporary Voices
INTERSECTION features works from internationally celebrated artists including Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama, Yoshitomo Nara, Daniel Arsham, Mr. Doodle, Nobuyoshi Araki, and Yuichi Hirako, alongside contemporary Indonesian artists such as A.T Sitompul, Dimas Kurniadi, Fauzan, Joko Nastain, Prabu Perdana, Rizal Kuzma, Svkmatra, Wednesday Lim, and Zoe.
Rather than presenting these artists through a single narrative, INTERSECTION invites their practices to exist in conversation. Across generations, geographies, and artistic approaches, each work contributes to a larger exchange about culture, identity, imagination, and contemporary life.

More than an exhibition, INTERSECTION is an invitation to slow down and explore. To notice contrasts. To find resonance in unexpected places. To experience how different perspectives can share the same space while remaining distinct in their own voices.
As part of ASHTA’s ongoing commitment to bringing together art, culture, and community, INTERSECTION continues to expand the role of the lifestyle destination as a place where creative conversations can thrive.
This season, step into a space where perspectives intersect, ideas evolve, and every artwork becomes part of a conversation still unfolding.
