Say It Through Style, with The Blueprint Drawn in Artlines

Not every story is written in ink. Some are spun, stitched, shared, and shaped by artists who speak in texture. Unfolding through Artlines on 21 July to 3 August 2025 at ASHTA District 8, a curated series of events that celebrates the intersection of art and life, The Blueprint marks a quiet yet powerful moment in how we view fashion, process, and collaboration.

Born from the union of Noir Sur Blanc and visual artist Popomangun, this installation is a living dialogue. An invitation to pause and consider what lies behind what we wear, what craftsmanship truly means, and how imagination takes shape through knit, color, and human touch.

An Ode to Craft and Imperfection

Installed in the heart of Melting Pot, The Blueprint reimagines the tactile beauty of knitwear through fabric sculptures, live embroidery, and machines that hum with memory. The Flying Tiger and Lindie Chikan machines, both from the 1990s, continue to breathe life into garments today. They require not only technique but also patience. Not just skill but intention.

Here, imperfections are not flaws. They are the mark of the maker and the evidence of care.

With Popomangun’s bold visuals layered into the textures, this collaboration becomes more than just wearable art. It becomes personal. Visitors are invited to witness, participate, and shape their own expressions. In a world driven by instant output, The Blueprint reminds us that creation takes time and that the process holds as much meaning as the result.

Extending the Narrative

The spirit of The Blueprint, rooted in thoughtful expression and community, continues beyond textiles. Over the week, a quiet dropbox appeared nearby. It carried an open invitation for guests to donate books they no longer read, in support of ASHTA’s Free Reading Space. Rather than discarding, visitors were encouraged to pass on their stories, allowing a new reader to continue where they left off.

This simple gesture echoes ASRI’s guiding vision of Shaping a Better Tomorrow, one conscious act at a time. Whether through craft or story, thread or paper, every contribution adds to a shared tapestry of meaning.

At ASHTA, art is not only seen. It is felt. Artline is now here at ASHTA District 8. Come experience how stories can be worn, shared, and remembered.
