Ramadan has a way of shifting the rhythm of Jakarta. The pace softens, evenings feel more intimate, and moments of connection become more meaningful. This season, ASHTA District 8 invites visitors to experience Ramadan through a different lens with Illustrated Ramadan Jakarta, an art exhibition and gifting market presented in collaboration with ENMASSE, taking place at SPAC8, ASHTA District 8.
As its first edition, Illustrated Ramadan Jakarta brings together the spirit of Ramadan with the vibrant energy of the illustration community. The exhibition features works from 30 contemporary illustrators, including Abenk Alter, Arkiv, Dinda Soemakno, Imelda Adams, Mandy CJ, Mang Moel, Ra Katamsi, Sir Dandy, and many more.
Each artwork offers a personal take on the Ramadan experience. Some capture quiet moments of reflection, others celebrate family gatherings and the warmth of shared traditions. Together, the exhibition paints a colorful portrait of the holy month—told through playful visuals, thoughtful narratives, and diverse artistic styles.

The collaboration also marks another chapter in the ongoing creative partnership between ASHTA District 8 and ENMASSE. Previously, the two have worked together on initiatives such as Jakarta Illustration & Creative Arts Fair (JICAF) 2023 and the POSTCART Exhibition during last year’s Independence celebrations. With Illustrated Ramadan Jakarta, the collaboration evolves into a new format that highlights illustration as a medium for storytelling and cultural expression during Ramadan.
Beyond the exhibition, visitors can also explore a series of community-driven experiences designed to make Ramadan at ASHTA feel even more special. The gifting market features curated illustration-based merchandise and creative products—perfect for thoughtful Ramadan gifts. An immersive Light Upon Light installation adds a contemplative visual moment within the space, while a lineup of communal iftar sessions, art talks, and workshops invites visitors to engage directly with the artists and the stories behind their works.

More than just an exhibition, Illustrated Ramadan Jakarta offers a moment to slow down—an opportunity to step away from the city’s busy pace, take in inspiring visuals, and connect with the creative energy of Jakarta’s illustration scene.
As a lifestyle destination known for its thoughtfully curated programs, ASHTA District 8 continues to bring together art, culture, and community in ways that feel relevant and meaningful. Illustrated Ramadan Jakarta is one of those moments—where creativity, reflection, and togetherness come together in the spirit of the season.
Illustrated Ramadan Jakarta is open to the public at SPAC8, ASHTA District 8 throughout the Ramadan period.
